               Drug Interactions with Beta Blockers:

Insulin Beta blockers may increase the risk of hypoglycemia as well as
hyperglycemia. A serum glucose concentration should be
                                                regularly checked.

Cimetidine May raise the blood serum concentration of beta blockers by
                                                blocking CP450 enzymes.

Diltiazem, Verapamil May produce an additive AV node suppression on higher doses
when used with calcium channel blockers. The concurrent use of
these drugs with beta blockers may require careful supervision.

Estrogen May decrease the antihypertensive effect of beta blockers by
                                                producing water and salt retention.

MAO inhibitors May reduce the antihypertensive effects of beta blockers.

Nitroglycerine Beta blockers may antagonize the reflex tachycardia produced by
                                                Nitroglycerine.

Sympathomimetic amines May decrease antihypertensive effects of beta blockers by
                                                stimulating the sympathetic nervous system.

Theophylline May raise the blood serum concentration and toxicities of
                                                theophylline by inhibiting its clearance.
