Definition: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is defined as an enlargement of the prostate gland which is often
associated with urination and bladder problems.

Finasteride 1. B.P.H. 1). Finasteride (Proscar) is a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5α-
(Tablet) 5 mg once a day reductase; an intracellular enzyme that converts the androgen
with or without testosterone into 5α-dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The development
